The village of Les Riceys in the southern Côte des Bar is the kingdom of Pinot Noir. Nicolas Dupuis, Export Director at Domaine Alexandre Bonnet, takes us on a journey through this unique region with six wines made entirely from Pinot Noir – one of which, surprisingly, has no bubbles at all.
The tasting brings together blanc de noirs champagnes and rosés alongside a rare local speciality: the legendary Rosé des Riceys. Even at the turn of the 19th century, up to 90% of Champagne’s production consisted of still wine, and Les Riceys remains at the heart of this tradition.
The region’s proximity to Burgundy is reflected in its wine styles and long tradition of still winemaking. Through wines crafted by the house’s young cellar master, Irvin Charpentier, Nicolas will reveal the secrets of this exceptional village. During the evening, we will explore rosé wines produced using both blending and maceration methods, as well as single-vineyard champagnes from plots with different exposures. Welcome to Les Riceys!
